Bengaluru, Sep 15: The NSS Unit of St Charles Women’s PU College, in collaboration with the Lions Club, organized a comprehensive health screening camp on September 13, extending free services such as blood testing, blood pressure monitoring, ECG, and diabetic screening. The initiative was a significant stride towards fostering community well-being and strengthening preventive healthcare awareness.
Spearheaded by Lion Shaji Kunnath, president, Lions Club Anubandha, the camp drew further strength from the presence of distinguished Lions dignitaries — Lion G L Prasanna Kumar, MJF, district coordinator – diabetes & Lion Anil Kumar from the Lions blood donation, whose expertise and commitment added value to the noble cause.

The programme was honored by the gracious presence of eminent academic leaders: Sr Precilla Lobo, vice provincial & councillor for Spirituality and Formation, Sr Juliet, councillor for Finance, Sr Lucy, manager & correspondent, Dr Sr Nancy Cutinho, Principal, Sr Elizabeth Leo, vice principal, Mary Medona D’Couto, NSS programme officer, and the lecturer in English. Their guidance and encouragement lent profound significance to the event.
The camp witnessed an overwhelming turnout of parents, students, and members of the wider community. Beneficiaries warmly appreciated the free consultations and timely medical support, describing the initiative as both impactful and reassuring.
Reflecting on the event, Dr Sr Nancy Cutinho, principal of St Charles Women’s PU College, observed: ‘This camp is a reminder that education is not confined to classrooms — it is equally about nurturing socially responsible citizens who extend compassion and service to society.’
True to the NSS motto, ‘Not Me, But You,’ the initiative not only strengthened health awareness but also inspired the youth to embrace a culture of service, empathy, and civic responsibility.
