Mangaluru, Sep 15: The Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University, organized a dynamic mock press event on September 11 for students of BBA aviation management, aviation and logistics management, and aviation, travel and tourism management. The primary objective of the event was to enhance students’ communication, analytical, and presentation skills by placing them in a simulated press environment. The event was conducted under the guidance of Dr Pavithra Kumari, dean, Institute of Aviation Studies and Anjana T V, head of the department, with support from faculty members.
A total of 38 students participated with great enthusiasm, showcasing confidence, creativity, and professionalism. Participants were presented with popular allegation cases and challenged to respond to probing press-style questions. Their ability to think on their feet, maintain presence of mind, and deliver logical and composed responses impressed both the faculty and audience. The event reflected not only the students’ grasp of communication strategies but also their capacity to adapt to high-pressure situations.






After a competitive and engaging round of interactions, Shravan D Suvarna from II BBA aviation management was the winner of the event. The runner-up position was jointly secured by Mohammed Adhil from III BBA aviation management and Ashley Lobo from II BBA aviation and logistics management, both of whom displayed exceptional skill in handling tough press questions.
The event concluded with an overwhelming sense of accomplishment and pride. It provided students with a unique, practical learning experience, reinforcing the importance of analytical ability, quick thinking, and confident communication in today’s professional world. The mock press event was widely appreciated as a successful initiative that highlighted the Institute’s commitment to nurturing industry-ready graduates and preparing them for the challenges of global business and aviation sectors.
