Udupi, Sep 14: Participants in art competitions should not focus merely on winning prizes but cultivate study habits and dedication to attain maturity in their art, said singer Yashavanth M G.
He was speaking after inaugurating the selection round of the Swara Kudla music competition, organised under the aegis of Karavali Sangeetha Kalavidara Okkoota (R), Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district, held at BEM High School, Rathabeedi, on Sunday.
Okkoota president Keshava Kanila presided over the programme. Nearly 90 contestants took part in the Swara Kudla competition.






Industrialist Badruddin Panambur, South Kanara Goldsmith Cooperative Society GM Yajnesh Acharya, Mangalore division general secretary of Life Insurance Representatives Forum Kashinath Putran Ullal, vice presidents Dhanuraj Attavar and Subhashith Kumar Udupi, and treasurer Harini Uday were present.
Former president of the Okkoota, Mohammad Iqbal Katipalla, welcomed the gathering, while general secretary Ram Kumar proposed the vote of thanks. Lakshmeesh Suvarna compered the event.
