Patna, Sep 13: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai on Saturday confidently declared that the NDA will return to power in Bihar under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Addressing party workers at a large NDA conference at Gandhi Maidan in Aurangabad, Rai took direct aim at the Congress and the RJD, accusing them of consistently misleading the people. He asserted that the electorate in Bihar is now politically aware and will not fall for the opposition’s tactics.
Rai defended the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), describing it as a measure to restore dignity to Indians abroad. “When Congress was in power, Indians faced humiliation in foreign countries. They were assaulted and mistreated. But now, with CAA, no one dares to abuse an Indian,” he said. While insisting that the NDA has no opposition to Muslims, he criticised historical figures like Jawaharlal Nehru and Mohammad Ali Jinnah, blaming them for the country’s division and vowing continued ideological resistance.

Referring to his own background, the minister said, “I am the son of a farmer. Just by standing at the edge of a field, I can predict the harvest. And I can say with the same certainty — no one can stop us from forming the government again in Bihar.”
He highlighted development under the NDA, claiming major progress in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and basic amenities. He stated that the Centre has provided Bihar with Rs 14 lakh crore for various schemes and infrastructure upgrades, accelerating the state’s transformation.
Rai also accused the Congress of historically betraying key figures like Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and said the party is now resorting to personal attacks on Prime Minister Modi and his family. “The people of Bihar will not tolerate this. They will respond through the ballot,” he warned.
The event saw participation from senior NDA leaders including former MP Sushil Kumar Singh and MP Devesh Chandra Thakur, further solidifying the alliance’s show of strength ahead of the upcoming elections.
