Brahmavar, Sept 13: A businessman in Brahmavar has allegedly been cheated of Rs 1.85 crore by a Haryana-based company that promised to construct a modern raw materials storage facility for his factory.

A case of cheating and criminal conspiracy has been registered at the Brahmavar Police Station following the complaint.

The complainant, Ravi K, who serves as the managing director of Supreme Feeds Pvt Ltd in 52nd Heruru village, stated that he was approached by Dwaipayan Dutta, director of Ben and Gauze Pvt. Ltd, with a proposal to build a state-of-the-art storage unit for raw materials.

On March 14, 2023, the company submitted an official quotation and assured delivery of the project using modern construction methods. Trusting the proposal, Ravi made an advance payment of Rs 1,45,00,000 and later transferred an additional Rs 40,03,311, as agreed under the contract.

However, despite receiving the full amount, the company allegedly failed to initiate or complete any part of the construction. Ravi stated in his complaint that the accused created fake documents and misled him with the intention of committing fraud and securing unlawful gains.

“They took the full amount but have not even begun the work. It’s a clear case of cheating,” Ravi reportedly said in his statement.

The complaint further alleges that five other individuals—Naser Alam, Ankur Gupta, Madhu Gupta, Umesh Rawat and Ujwal Singhravar—collaborated with Dwaipayan Dutta in carrying out the fraudulent scheme. According to Ravi, all six accused conspired to deceive him and caused substantial financial loss to his company.

The Brahmavar police have registered an FIR and launched a full investigation into the alleged scam.
