Bantwal, Sept 13: A major Lok Adalat held at the Bantwal court on Saturday, September 13, delivered impressive results, with 10,683 cases settled and more than Rs 3.35 crore recovered through mutual settlements.

Out of 6,228 pending civil suits, 785 cases were resolved, leading to collections totalling Rs 32,68,475. Additionally, 9,898 Pre-Litigation Conciliation (PLC) matters were settled, resulting in the recovery of a significant Rs 3,02,54,522.

“The aim of the Lok Adalat is not only to reduce the backlog of cases but to ensure swift, cost-effective, and amicable resolution of disputes,” said senior civil judge Anil Prakash M P, who led the judicial panel.

Also on the bench were principal civil judge Krishnamurthy N, additional civil judges Rajendra Prasad K S, Anuradha A V, Pooja Shree, and Karthik, who served as judicial conciliators for the session.

The successful conduct of the Lok Adalat was made possible with the support of multiple departments and agencies including the Bantwal Advocates’ Association (R), revenue department, municipal council, police department, along with nationalised banks and co-operative institutions.

Judicial authorities described the event as a “positive step towards accessible justice”, highlighting the effectiveness of Lok Adalats in delivering quick and equitable solutions while easing the burden on the traditional court system.
