Mangaluru, Sep 10: It has been almost two months since a landslide occurred near the Circuit House on the way to Bejai Road, yet the debris has not been fully cleared.

The landslide, which took place on July 16 due to heavy rainfall, disrupted traffic in the area. Even after two months, mud and debris continue to cover parts of the footpath and the road, which remains barricaded.

Pedestrians are being forced to walk on the road due to the blocked footpath, a situation that poses serious safety risks. The road from Circuit House to Bejai is a downslope, and vehicles often move at high speed. Additionally, the right side of the road lacks a footpath, leaving pedestrians with no safe space to walk.

This prolonged delay in clearing the debris highlights the negligence of the Mangaluru City Corporation. Despite the time that has passed, the civic authorities have failed to restore the footpath and ensure pedestrian safety.
