Hubballi, Sep 9: Dr Y D Stella, professor at Fr Muller College of Nursing, Mangaluru, was conferred with the Santosh Foundation’s EduInspire National Award on September 5 at a distinguished ceremony held at Hotel Naveen Lakeside, Hubballi. The award recognized her outstanding contributions and unwavering dedication in her field, marking a significant milestone in her illustrious career.
The event, hosted by the Santosh Foundation, brought together luminaries from various sectors to celebrate individuals who have made impactful contributions to society. Dr Stella’s work was lauded for its depth, innovation, and commitment to public service, earning her a standing ovation from the audience.





Her leadership as assistant registrar of Malwanchal University, Indore, principal at various nursing colleges across North India, examination chairperson, secretary of TNAI Indore branch, and chief proctor of Malwanchal University has strengthened academic quality and integrity in nursing education. Furthermore, her innovative spirit is evident in her two patents—a cancer detection model and a unique blood glucose monitoring device—demonstrating her commitment to advancing healthcare solutions. She has also published around 11 research articles in nursing in various national and international journals.
The award was presented by Dr Santosh Y Krishnapur, president of the foundation, Prof M Nagaraju, renowned academician and former KPSC member, government of Karnataka, and Prashanth Jathanna, director of Christian Development Corporation, government of Karnataka, who praised Dr Stella’s achievements and her role as a beacon of inspiration for aspiring professionals. In her acceptance speech, Dr Stella expressed heartfelt gratitude and emphasised the importance of perseverance, ethics, and community engagement in professional growth.
