Mangaluru, Sep 9: Raknno Konkani-English bilingual weekly from Mangaluru hereby announces its Annual Literary Awards - 2025. ‘The best author of the year award’ is bagged by Richard Alvares, Kulshekar and the ‘Best parish magazine award’ is bagged by ‘Izoicho Kalo’ from St Francis Xavier Church, Bejai. They will be awarded by the bishop of Mangalore Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, on Sunday, September 14 at 10.00 am, at St Joseph Church Hall, Bajpe.
Raknno, an esteemed Konkani weekly, is published from the diocese of Mangalore since 1938. It is serving its ardent readers through enlightening then on diverse subjects since its founding. It is since last year it is honoring the literary works through renowned award to promote Konkani literature. Once it calls for the entries, they are scrutinized and chosen the best once for the two awards in the year.

After the award ceremony the bishop will release the 134th book ‘Bhorvoshachye Vater’ published by Raknno publication. This will be followed by two presentations on the need Konkani literature and the reading habit among the people in this digital era. The programme is organized by the Raknno Weekly with the help of Bajpe parish community.
The editor Fr Rupesh Madtha, along with the editorial board and judges, have congratulated the awardees.
