Udupi: Accused nabbed from Bengaluru after 16 years on the run

Udupi, Sep 9: In a major breakthrough, Manipal police arrested an accused who had been absconding for the past 16 years without appearing before the court in connection with a case registered at Manipal police station.

The accused, identified as Rajesh Kumar, was traced and taken into custody on September 7, at Ittamadu, Banashankari, Bengaluru. The arrest was carried out under the guidance of inspector Mahesh Prasad of Manipal police station and led by sub-inspector Akshaya Kumari.

The operation was successfully executed by warrant staff members Rajesh and Manjunath Havanaje, who apprehended the accused and produced him before the authorities.
