Bengaluru, Sep 8: A 25-year-old youth from Udupi, identified as Karthik, has gone missing in Bengaluru’s K R Puram area after reportedly failing his MBA examinations. Before leaving, he wrote a letter and left it behind.

Karthik had been residing in a rented house in K R Puram for the past few years while working in a private company. He was the sole breadwinner of his family.

Around four years ago, Karthik enrolled in an MBA course at a reputed college in Bengaluru. His parents had spent Rs 12 lakh on his education. Though Karthik told his family that he had completed his MBA after two years, in reality, he had not cleared the examinations. Meanwhile, he secured employment in a private company based on his B.Com qualification.

Recently, when the MBA re-exam results were announced, Karthik failed once again. Unable to bear the shock and overcome by self-blame, he wrote a letter and left home.

In the note, Karthik wrote, “I could not become a good son to such good parents. My failure to pass MBA is the reason for leaving home. You spent Rs 12 lac on my education, but I could not justify it. I have also mentioned the details of those to whom I owe money. After writing this letter, on September 5 morning, I left my room and boarded a bus near the Aladamar bus stop in Ramamurthynagar.”

Karthik left behind both his company and personal mobile phones in his room, which has heightened his parents’ anxiety. His father, Chandrashekar Shetty, has lodged a complaint at Ramamurthynagar police station, and an intensive search is underway.

The parents have appealed to the public with the following request: “If anyone comes across our son Karthik anywhere, kindly contact us at 9731605054 and provide information.”
