Media Release

Mumbai, Sep 7: Students of St Lawrence High School, Borivali brought pride to the school by winning the Best Country Profile Award for their country profile on Madagascar at the Indian Model United Nations (INMUN) 2025, hosted by the Ryan Group of Schools.

The conference, held from September 1–3 in New Delhi, witnessed the participation of around 150 schools from across India and abroad.

Seven students from St Lawrence, representing Madagascar, actively participated in committees such as the UNGA, UNOC, WSF, SOCHUM, and UNDP, where they deliberated on pressing global issues including cybersecurity, maritime security, the militarisation of drones, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

At the closing ceremony, held at Siri Fort Auditorium, New Delhi, amidst thunderous applause from student delegates and dignitaries, St Lawrence students received the Best Country Profile Award from Dr Grace Pinto, managing director of the Ryan Group of Schools, for their digital country profile, presented in a real-time news bulletin format on Madagascar.

The Indian Model United Nations (INMUN), launched in 2001 under the mentorship of Dr A F Pinto, founder-chairman, and madam Dr Grace Pinto, managing director of the Ryan International Group, is India’s longest-running Model United Nations.

Over the years, it has grown into a premier international platform for students to engage in dialogue, diplomacy, and leadership—empowering them to become future-ready leaders. Through this experience, students not only expand their knowledge of world affairs but also hone essential skills in public speaking, critical thinking, and collaboration.
