Udupi, Sept 7: In a fitting tribute to educators on the occasion of Teachers' Day, Adarsha Charitable Trust, in association with Shri Adarsha College of Nursing, Adarsha Institute of Allied Health Sciences, Adarsha Paramedical College, Adarsha Hospital, and the Department of School Education, felicitated 37 teachers from across Udupi district for their invaluable service to society.
The felicitation ceremony was held on Sunday, September 7, at the Adarsha Group of Institutions campus in Alevoor and was attended by several dignitaries and educationists.
















Deputy Commissioner Swaroopa T K, who inaugurated the event, said that Udupi’s consistent top performance in the education sector is due to the dedication and perseverance of its teachers. “Every teacher’s contribution is significant, and quality education delivered with care and commitment enables students to achieve their goals,” she stated.
Kaup MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty, addressing the gathering, stressed the importance of knowledge and the pivotal role of teachers in shaping society. “Education should promote awareness, harmony, and moral values. Schools must remain free from caste and religious divisions,” he emphasised.
As part of the programme, 37 teachers from government, aided, and unaided primary and high schools across the district were recognised and felicitated for their outstanding contributions to education and community development.
Chief guest Pramod Madhwaraj, former minister, highlighted the role of teachers in building a progressive society. “Teachers play a vital role in shaping responsible citizens. Dr G S Chandrashekhar is a living example of how education, supported by teachers and parents, empowers individuals to achieve excellence and contribute meaningfully to society,” he said.
Other dignitaries who extended their greetings on the occasion included district deputy director of public instruction Lokesh C, additional deputy commissioner Abid Gadyal, Alevoor Grama Panchayat president Yatish, and Udupi district Congress president Ashok Kumar Kodavoor.
Prominent personalities in attendance included Dr G S Chandrashekhar, medical director of Adarsha Hospital; Vimala Chandrashekhar, CEO of the hospital; Dr Suresh Hegde, president of Udupi API; Sudina, Principal of Adarsha Nursing College; and Prof. Ravikumar T N, principal of Adarsha Paramedical College.
Dr Chandrashekhar welcomed the gathering, Prashanth Kumar compered the event, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Anushree Acharya.
