Udupi: USWAS Kala Utsav – Houseful even before countdown begins

Media Release

Udupi, Sep 5: A historic milestone has been created in the UAE’s Konkani cultural scene. The much-awaited Kala Utsav 2025, organised by USWAS–Shirva, has achieved a record-breaking advance booking — housefull one month before the event. This unprecedented response reflects the community’s deep love, unity, and unwavering passion for Konkani art and culture.

At the heart of this year’s event is the grand musical evening “Wilfy Nite: Golden Melodies”, a heartfelt tribute to the legendary Konkani composer Wilfy Rebimbus.

The event promises an unforgettable night of melody and nostalgia, with soulful performances by the Rebimbus family along with well-known singers, supported by a stellar music ensemble including Wilfy’s star duo Papan & Joswin.

Adding a generous dose of laughter and entertainment, renowned Indian comedian Jimmy Moses will take the stage with his signature humour. The evening will also feature dynamic dance performances by Ocean Events, while popular emcee Dony Correa will host the show with his trademark energy and charisma.

In a statement, the USWAS–Shirva organising committee expressed heartfelt gratitude to all community members, sponsors, and well-wishers. “This overwhelming advance booking is not just a record-breaking milestone; it is a powerful symbol of unity among the Konkani-speaking community and their unwavering commitment to preserving and promoting their cultural heritage,” said the organisers.

The USWAS Kala Utsav promises to be a night of joy, remembrance, and celebration — a fitting tribute to the richness of Konkani culture.
