Raipur, Sep 4: Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on Congress leader and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi over his recent “‘vote chori’ hydrogen bomb” statement, saying that if Gandhi really has such a bomb, he should send it to Pakistan as India has no need for it.
Addressing a press conference in Raipur, Athawale mocked the Congress leader, remarking, “If Rahul Gandhi has a hydrogen bomb, he must send it to Pakistan, because India does not need it.”

The Union Minister defended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, saying the BJP-led NDA government had once again returned to power despite a reduction in seats during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. “The Opposition tried to create unrest and mislead the poor and the Muslim community. Still, the people reposed their faith in Modi ji, and he became Prime Minister for the third consecutive time,” Athawale stated.
Taking a jibe at the Congress leader, Athawale said Rahul Gandhi was running the campaign of “Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhod” only to mislead people. “Rahul Gandhi always makes noise. He is calling others thieves, but the Election Commission has asked him to provide evidence of vote theft. Instead of submitting proof, he continues to make baseless claims,” Athawale remarked.
On the upcoming Bihar Assembly polls, Athawale expressed confidence that the NDA would once again form the government in the state. “Rahul Gandhi has completely lost touch with real issues. He is now talking about vote theft, but in Bihar, Nitish Kumar will once again become Chief Minister, and Tejashwi Yadav will be pushed back to the Opposition benches,” he added.
It may be recalled that during his recent ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar, Rahul Gandhi had accused the Election Commission of manipulating the voter list. Concluding the yatra, Gandhi had also issued a dramatic warning of “exploding a hydrogen bomb” against the BJP and the EC, accusing them of conspiring to engineer voter fraud ahead of the Bihar elections.
