Panaji, Sep 2: The Goa Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Kashinath Damodar Naik Memorial Trust have announced the recipients of the Kashinath Damodar Naik – Pride of Goa Awards 2025, instituted to honour Goans who have made significant contributions to business and industry.
For this year, the Lifetime Achievement Award has been conferred on Anju Timblo, Managing Director and CEO of Fomento Resorts and Hotels Pvt Ltd, for her outstanding leadership and contribution to Goa’s hospitality sector. Since 1993, she has been at the helm of Fomento Resorts, spearheading the iconic Taj Cidade de Goa – Heritage and Taj Cidade de Goa – Horizon, which together form Goa’s largest luxury hospitality complex. Under her leadership, Araqila, a luxury resort in Sindhudurg, Maharashtra, has also been launched. Timblo has actively promoted Goan art, music, cuisine, and traditions while nurturing hospitality professionals for future generations.

The Entrepreneur Award has been presented to Sachin Lawande, President and CEO of Visteon Corporation, Michigan. Born in Taleigao, Lawande is recognised for his global achievements in the field of automotive technology and for bringing international acclaim to Goa. Since 2015, he has led Visteon Corporation, a Fortune 500 company and one of the world’s leading suppliers of cockpit electronics.
The awards are instituted in memory of late Kashinath Damodar Naik, a well-known Margao-based businessman, historian, and philanthropist. The formal award ceremony will be held in December at Gomant Vidya Niketan, Margao, with Vikram Doctor as the keynote speaker.
