Mangaluru, Aug 31: The Institute of Physiotherapy, Srinivas University, successfully organised its first international physiotherapy conference – Srinivas University Physiotherapy in Advanced Rehabilitation Conference (SPARC-2025), a two-day global event held on August 29 and 30 at the University’s New Campus, Pandeshwara. The valedictory ceremony was held on August 30.
The programme was presided over by the honourable chancellor, Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, who, in his presidential address, emphasized the rapid advancements in medical technology. He noted that modern innovations can predict treatment percentages and guide appropriate therapies. He added that the two-day conference served as a platform for self-learning and professional enrichment, urging participants to reflect deeply and gain knowledge beyond academics.






The valedictory ceremony was inaugurated by Dr Venkata Ramana Akkaraju, chairperson of the New Mangalore Port Authority. In his inspiring speech, he quoted, “Arogyam Paramabhagyam, Swasthyam Sarvatha Sadanam” – meaning that good health is the foundation of true happiness in life. He highlighted that physiotherapy, though practiced since ancient times, has now evolved into a highly professional and scientific discipline. He praised Srinivas University for its commitment to advancing healthcare through such international forums.
Honourable pro-chancellor, Dr A Srinivas Rao, in his address, stated that the knowledge gained from this conference would greatly benefit participants in their professional journey. He remarked that physiotherapy plays a vital role in restoring health, and seminars of this kind act as a guiding light that broadens perspectives and enhances expertise.
As part of the conference, a cultural event titled ‘Fusion Fiesta’ was held, in which Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing & Physiotherapy emerged as the winners.
The programme witnessed the presence of distinguished dignitaries, including vice-chancellor Dr Satyanarayana Reddy, registrar Dr Anil Kumar, and development registrar Dr Ajay Kumar.
Dr Trishala Noronha PT, dean, Institute of Physiotherapy, Srinivas University, and organising chairperson of SPARC-2025, extended a warm welcome to the gathering. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks proposed by Dr Prem Kumar, convenor.
