Kuwait, Aug 30: Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA) hosted the much-anticipated premiere of the Konkani movie ‘Fondacho Misther’ on August 28 at Ozone Cinema, Khaithan. The event received an overwhelming response, with four simultaneous houseful premiere shows on the opening day.
The Konkani community in Kuwait came together for an exciting evening of cinema, celebrating this milestone for regional films. The exceptional success of ‘Fondacho Misther’ highlights the growing influence of regional cinema and the strong cultural ties that bind the community. This international appeal further underscores the rising prominence of Konkani cinema in bringing traditional stories to global audiences.


















































































Fondacho Misther marks Rayan Magneto’s second directorial venture, following the success of his debut film 'Lucky Draw 777'. The film has already completed 100 shows and continues its successful theatrical run across coastal Karnataka, while also making waves in the Gulf region.
The comedy film with a social message was released on April 25 in Mangaluru and Udupi is screened in Kuwait with full audience. Rayan Magneto directs and plays a role in the film, while the script and production are handled by Melwyn Pernal. Music is composed by Prajoth D’Sa of Udi Udi fame, and cinematography is by Allwyn Sequeira. The lyrical song Dektana Tuka has already become popular among fans. The film features a large ensemble of talented artistes from the Mangaluru region, including Lucy Lobo Aranha, who has been an active participant in various cultural activities in Kuwait over the years. Tulunada Manikya Aravind Bolar makes a special appearance.
The inaugural ceremony began with MC Deepak Andrade inviting KCWA president Prakash Godwin Pinto and movie core committee members Naveen Valerian Mascarenhas, Wilson D’Souza, Roshan Quadras, Alban D’Souza and Abbasiya Konkani Families Kuwait president, Norbert D’Souza, to the stage. Fr Avil Rosario, spiritual director of KCWA, was escorted by KCWA vice president Arun Jossy D’Souza. Sr Venitha, Sr Maria, Sr Saritha were welcomed to the stage. Movie actor Lucy Lobo was also present at the event and was welcomed to the stage, accompanied by KCWA general secretary Reena Pereira. The guests were greeted with flower bouquets presented by KCWA president Prakash Godwin Pinto.

Fr Avil Rosario addressed the audience with a message, highlighting ‘Fondacho Mister’ as a testament to the richness of the global Konkani-speaking community. He congratulated the team and expressed his hope that the Konkani language would grow and flourish across the world. He also wished that Konkani cinema would continue to provide opportunities for all talented artists to showcase and enhance their abilities. He extended his best wishes to everyone and prayed for God's blessings upon them.
KCWA expressed its gratitude to Ozone Cinema operator Salman, with flower bouquets presented by KCWA president Prakash Godwin Pinto.
Movie actor Lucy Lobo expressed her gratitude to God for the opportunity to be part of the film. She also thanked the movie’s director, Rayan, for choosing her for the role. Additionally, she extended her heartfelt thanks to the organisers, KCWA, for their support, as well as to all the core committee members. She was deeply grateful to the Kuwait audience for their overwhelming support and also acknowledged the sponsors for their valuable contributions.
