Mumbai traffic alert: Diversions in place ahead of Manoj Jarange Patil’s Maratha quota rally

Mumbai, Aug 29: The Mumbai Traffic Police has issued a travel advisory in view of Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange Patil’s rally at Azad Maidan on Friday, August 29. Traffic restrictions and diversions have been implemented from midnight and will remain effective until further notice.

According to the advisory, the protest march will reach Azad Maidan via Navi Mumbai – Sion Panvel Marg – Panjarpol route.

Traffic movement has been restricted on stretches including V.N. Purav Road to Pancharpol-Freeway, Deonar Farm Road to Pancharpol, Trombay Chita Camp to V.N. Purav Marg and Panjarpol, Sion Panvel Marg to Mankhurd Division and Panjarpol, C.G. Gidwani North Channel to Panjarpol, East Mukt Marg North Channel to Panjarpol Junction, IOC Junction and Govandi Railway Bridge towards East Mukt Marg, and Vaman Tukaram Patil Marg to Panjarpol Junction and East Mukt Marg North Channel.

Commuters have been advised to take alternate routes through Punjabwadi Junction – Hemant Karkare Gas Pump – Govandi Station – Gaondevi Chowk – Neelam Junction – Mankhurd Traffic Division – L.O.C. Junction to enter the city. Vehicles from Deonar Farm Road can also use this route. Those coming from Trombay Chita Camp must divert from R.K. Chowk – Sion Panvel Marg North Channel – Mankhurd Railway Bridge T Junction – Ghatkopar Mankhurd Link Road. Navi Mumbai-bound traffic from C.G. Gidwani North Channel has been diverted via Golf Club – Chimani Garden – Diamond Garden – Sion Trombay Marg – Panjarpol Junction – Vaman Tukaram Patil Road – IOC Junction – Ghatkopar Mankhurd Link Road.

The police have urged motorists to follow the revised arrangements and avoid restricted routes to ensure smooth traffic movement in the city.
