Patna, Aug 29: A police complaint has been registered in Patna against Congress leader and Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi for allegedly making abusive remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
BJP leader Krishna Singh Kallu lodged the complaint at Gandhi Maidan Police Station, alleging that Gandhi used “indecent and abusive language” during an INDIA bloc rally in Darbhanga. Kallu claimed that remarks targeting the Prime Minister’s late mother had crossed “all limits of decency”.

“We will not allow Rahul Gandhi’s programme to take place in Patna. The people of Bihar will not tolerate such abuses,” Kallu told reporters.
The incident has sparked sharp political reactions. Union Home Minister Amit Shah condemned the remarks, calling them a “stain on democracy” and accusing the Congress under Gandhi’s leadership of sinking to its “lowest level”. BJP national president JP Nadda also demanded apologies from Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, stating that the abuses had crossed all limits.
The Congress, however, dismissed the allegations, with party spokesperson Pawan Khera accusing the BJP of diverting attention from “crucial issues” by raising “irrelevant matters”.
