Bantwal, Aug 27: The rural police have successfully solved a cattle theft case reported from Kanchenadka Padu in Ira village.
On March 23, a cow worth around Rs 12,000 had gone missing, and a case was registered at Bantwal rural police station. After investigation, police arrested the accused, Irshad, from Azad Nagar, Mangaluru.
It has come to light that the accused has been involved in more than 15 cases of cattle theft and illegal cattle transportation across Dakshina Kannada and several other districts. The arrested accused was produced before the Bantwal Court, which has remanded him to judicial custody.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Dakshina Kannada SP Dr Arun K IPS, Additional SP Anil Kumar S Bhoomaraddi, and Bantwal DySP Vijay Pusad. The team was led by Bantwal rural police inspector Shivakumar B.
The team members included PSI Manjunath T, PSI Krishnakant Patil, head constables Prashanth, Lokesh, Krishna Naik, and PCs Maruti and Haleshappa.
