Karkala-origin hotel owner murdered in Pune after staff dispute

Pune, Aug 27: In a shocking incident on Tuesday night, August 26, a hotel owner from Karkala was murdered in Pune, Maharashtra. The incident reportedly occurred after the owner reprimanded a staff member for working under the influence of alcohol.

The deceased has been identified as Santosh Shetty (46), a resident of Ennehole, Kumerumane in Karkala taluk.

According to preliminary reports, a staff member from Uttar Pradesh, who was allegedly intoxicated while on duty, was warned by Santosh Shetty. Enraged by the reprimand, the staffer allegedly fetched a knife from the kitchen and attacked Shetty, killing him on the spot.

The incident took place around 10 pm on Tuesday. Family sources have confirmed that Santosh Shetty’s mortal remains are being brought to his native place, Ennehole, for the final rites.
