Karan Johar shares son Yash’s ‘Nepo Baby’ Banter, leaves netizens in splits

Mumbai, Aug 24: Filmmaker Karan Johar on Saturday gave his followers a dose of humour by uploading a video of his son Yash flaunting a blue T-shirt with the words ‘nepo baby’ printed on it.

In the clip, Karan is heard telling his son, “Oh my god! Do you know what this T-shirt says? You are a nepo baby.” To this, Yash promptly replied, “Yeah, but I don’t want to be launched.” A surprised Karan quipped back, “What? Who is launching you anyway?” The candid exchange quickly went viral, leaving fans amused.

Sharing the video on Instagram, Karan revealed that the quirky T-shirt was a gift from a friend, though he chose not to disclose her name. “He has a mind of his own. I am HAPPY!!!” the filmmaker wrote in his caption.

The banter between father and son has won over netizens, drawing thousands of likes and playful comments.

Karan, who has often been at the centre of the nepotism debate in Bollywood after being called the “flag-bearer of nepotism” by actor Kangana Ranaut in 2017, seemed to take the jibe sportingly once again — this time through his son’s witty response.

Karan Johar is father to twins Yash and Roohi, born via surrogacy in 2017. Yash is named after Karan’s late father Yash Johar, while Roohi’s name is derived from his mother Hiroo Johar.
