Satara, Aug 19: In a shocking incident, a woman traffic police constable was dragged for nearly 120 metres by an autorickshaw driven by a drunk man in Satara city.

Policewoman Bhagyashree Jadhav was on duty at a busy crossing when she signalled an auto to stop for routine checking. The driver, identified as Devraj Kale, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, refused to comply and tried to flee.

CCTV visuals captured the harrowing moments as Jadhav clung onto the vehicle while being dragged along the road. Alert passersby intervened, blocked the auto’s way, and rescued the injured cop before handing over the driver to police after thrashing him.

Constable Jadhav sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital. Police confirmed that the driver has been arrested and further investigation is underway.
