Christ School Manipal celebrates Independence Day with patriotic spirit

Udupi, Aug 18: Christ School celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great pride and patriotic fervour on August 15, 2025.

The event was graced by Martin J Aranha, MD and CEO of Globelink West Star Shipping LLC, Dubai, and his spouse Philomena Aranha, along with correspondent Fr Romeo Lewis, principal Eliza Vaz, and members of the School Managing Committee.

The programme began with a brief introduction by Sumalatha and was anchored by Yahvi Talwar. The school choir rendered Vande Mataram, followed by a welcome address by Principal Eliza Vaz. The National Flag was then hoisted with reverence, as the gathering saluted and joined in singing the National Anthem.

Chief guests were felicitated before Martin Aranha delivered an inspiring address, urging students to uphold the values of freedom, unity, and responsibility.

The celebration also featured patriotic songs, a mass drill, the release of the school magazine BLOOM (2024–25), and a spirited patriotic dance by Class 5 students.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Nishan and the distribution of sweets, leaving the campus resonating with patriotism and joy.
