Mangaluru, Aug 16: The spirit of patriotism echoed through the corridors of Ladyhill Kindergarten School as young minds gathered to celebrate the 79th Independence Day of India with energy, pride, and colourful expressions of love for their country. The theme “We Are All Soldiers” came alive not just through performances, but through every smile, salute, and song presented by the tiny tots.

The celebration commenced with a warm introduction by Ruth Menezes, who set the tone for the event with her heartfelt words. Her welcome paved the way for a memorable morning.

The atmosphere turned serene with a melodious prayer song sung by the UKG children, seeking blessings for the nation and its future.

The charming duo, Nishan R and Naman, extended a heartfelt welcome speech, filling the hall with joy and excitement.

Honouring guests

Parnika S Karkera presented a bouquet to the chief guest, Shanthi Noronha, retired teacher of Ladyhill English Higher Primary School.

Saatvik Shetty honoured principal Sr Jenifer Moras with floral greetings.

J Sam Deborah and Lisha offered flowers to vice principals, Sr Jocelyn AC and Lavita Correa.

The stage was then lit up with a cascade of delightful performances:

Play home tiny tots stole hearts with their joyful dance, proving that age is no bar for expressing love for the nation.

The highlight of the day was the UKG skit, “We Are All Soldiers” — a powerful performance that showcased how even our youngest citizens can stand strong for their country in everyday acts of kindness, courage, and unity.

Following the skit, the energy soared with patriotic dance performances: a lively show by LKG, a graceful dance by UKG A, and a spirited display by UKG B.

Each act reflected the pride and potential of our young “soldiers of peace.”

The audience was then moved by an inspirational talk by the chief guest, who praised the young performers and emphasised the role of education in shaping responsible citizens. Principal Sr Jenifer Moras AC followed with a patriotic message, encouraging students to uphold the values of freedom, discipline, and unity.

Ganvi S Kumar and Joe Marsh Veigas delivered a warm vote of thanks, appreciating the dedication and teamwork behind the celebration. A memento was presented to the chief guest, acknowledging her presence and encouragement.

The celebration concluded with the national anthem, sung in unison — a perfect ending to a morning filled with national pride.

From prayer to performance, from speeches to salutes — every moment at Ladyhill Kindergarten School’s Independence Day programme was a reminder that the little ones are indeed “soldiers” of tomorrow, ready to serve their country with love and kindness.
