Udupi, Aug 9: Lords International Residential School proudly hosted its first investiture ceremony on August 8 in the school premises.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Thanuja Maben as the chief guest, along with Dr Bhavyashree Kidiyoor (trustee), principal Martyl F Lewis, and vice principal Roopa Ashok Shetty, who presided over the ceremony.
The programme commenced with a soulful prayer song performed by the students of grades 5 and 6. The gathering was warmly welcomed by the vice principal.











Following this, the student leaders, speaker Yuthika, head boy Parikshith, head girl Pavani, and the house leaders: Hayath (Aqua house), Rushangi (Ignis house), Thanmay (Terra house), and Hiba (Vendus house), discipline leader Yuvraj, science leader Kanishk, sports leader Shrinik—marched forward with their torches towards their designated posts in a symbolic gesture of responsibility and leadership.
The leaders were formally honoured with sashes and badges by the chief guest. The oath of office was administered by the speaker in the presence of the principal, marking a solemn promise of commitment and service.
To honour the new leaders, the teachers dedicated a heartfelt wishing song.
Dr Bhavyashree Kidiyoor extended her congratulations to the newly appointed student council and inspired them to lead with sincerity and accountability.
In her motivational address, chief guest Thanuja Maben captivated the audience with a short story of a king and encouraged the leaders to be like a tea bag, bringing out the best under pressure. She shared the inspirational journey of Gukesh, a young chess champion, emphasizing the values of dedication, courage, and the importance of overcoming fear and self-doubt to become true leaders.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Yuthika, speaker of the student council. The program was efficiently coordinated by Florine, who served as the in-charge of the event.
