Munger, Jul 27: A shocking incident has come to light from Bihar's Munger district, where four children were tied with ropes, beaten, and publicly paraded through Jhowabahiyar village on Saturday after being accused of stealing 25 kg of peas.

A 20-second video of the disturbing act has gone viral on social media, triggering widespread outrage. The footage shows the minors visibly distressed and crying as they were led through the village with their hands bound.

According to reports, one child allegedly confessed to the theft and named three others, after which the group was subjected to public humiliation. Villagers stood by as the children were beaten and then paraded. Some local shopkeepers and residents also reportedly confronted the minors about past thefts during the ordeal. Certain villagers defended the action as a deterrent against further crimes.

Superintendent of Police Syed Imran Masood confirmed that the video has been received and that police have launched an investigation into the incident.

Authorities have yet to confirm if any arrests have been made. The incident has raised serious concerns about child rights and mob justice in rural Bihar.
