Udupi: Rickshaw driver dies in bus collision near Padubidri

Padubidri, Jul 21: In a tragic road mishap, 49-year-old Manohar Kotian, a resident of Padebettu, lost his life after a private bus travelling from Udupi to Bengaluru collided with an auto-rickshaw at the Padubidri-Karkala junction on Sunday night.

Former gram panchayat member Jaya Salian, who was in the auto-rickshaw during the accident, sustained serious injuries but is said to be out of danger.

Manohar, a auto-rickshaw driver for over 25 years, was also a well-known mechanic specializing in two-wheelers and three-wheelers in the region.

He is survived by his wife and son.
