Bantwal, Jul 13: In a significant development in connection with crime no. 39/2025 registered at the Dharmasthala Police Station, a separate inquiry has been launched following the alleged leak of a complainant’s identity on social media platforms.
The complainant, who is also a witness in the case, reportedly had their identity revealed publicly through social media posts, raising serious concerns regarding witness protection and privacy violations.
Taking the matter seriously, the deputy superintendent of police, Bantwal sub-division, has initiated a parallel investigation to identify the individuals responsible for disclosing the sensitive information and to assess any security risks posed to the complainant.
Authorities have cautioned that strict action will be taken against those who compromise legal confidentiality, especially in sensitive cases. The incident has sparked concern among legal circles and law enforcement over the misuse of digital platforms to influence or interfere with ongoing investigations.
