Mumbai, Jul 12: In a major relief for families and authorities, Mumbai Police have successfully traced four minor boys who went missing from a madrasa in Malvani, locating them in Ajmer, Rajasthan. The boys, aged 12, 13, 15, and 16, were found safe and are currently in protective custody with the help of Ajmer Police.

The minors, who had been staying at the madrasa for over a year for religious education, were reported missing on the evening of July 8 after they failed to return by 7:30 pm. A concerned maulvi alerted local police, leading to the registration of a missing persons complaint at Malvani Police Station.

Mumbai Police promptly launched a multi-pronged investigation. Teams scanned footage from over 100 CCTV cameras around the madrasa and surrounding areas, eventually piecing together a travel route that led them to Ajmer.

Police also carried out extensive checks at railway stations, bus depots, and religious sites, while speaking to madrasa staff, family members, and friends to gather more information.

Initial findings suggest the boys left voluntarily, though the motive behind their sudden departure remains unclear. No signs of foul play or abduction have emerged so far. Authorities are now probing whether the move was spontaneous or influenced by someone.

Police credited the swift coordination between Mumbai and Ajmer police teams for the safe recovery. The boys will undergo counseling and care, and their families have been informed. Further questioning will help ascertain the circumstances surrounding the case.
