Ghaziabad, Jul 8: Cricketer Yash Dayal has been booked by Uttar Pradesh Police following serious allegations of deception, physical abuse, and mental harassment levelled by a woman from Ghaziabad. The FIR was registered at Indirapuram police station on Sunday under BNS Section 69 — which pertains to sexual intercourse by deceitful means, including false promises of marriage.

The action comes after the woman submitted a formal complaint to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath via the Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS) on June 21. In her statement, she alleged that she was in a five-year relationship with the 27-year-old cricketer, during which he exploited her physically and mentally under the pretext of marriage.

"He had physical relations with me under the false promise of marriage. His family accepted me like their own and treated me as their daughter-in-law. But the reality was different. He used the relationship for exploitation," the FIR read.

She further claimed that whenever she questioned him about his involvement with other women, she was subjected to physical abuse. “I was mentally broken. He shattered my confidence and made me financially and emotionally dependent. I even attempted suicide multiple times due to the mental trauma,” she added.

The woman also alleged that despite ongoing emotional distress, Dayal and his family continued to mislead her with false assurances of marriage. Upon discovering his involvement with other women, she said she decided to take legal action to uphold her dignity.

Police officials confirmed that a case has been registered and investigations are currently underway.
