Bajpe, Jul 6: As part of its annual Swachhata Pakhwada initiative aimed at promoting cleanliness and health awareness among the public, Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd. (MRPL) organized a community health and cancer screening camp at the Permude gram panchayat hall.
Speaking at the event, MRPL general manager Prashanth Baliga said, “MRPL conducts various socially beneficial programmes each year through Swachhata Pakhwada, with the aim of instilling a sense of cleanliness and personal health awareness among people.”












The camp was organised in collaboration with Fr Muller Medical College Hospital and the Indian Society, with a team of expert doctors from Fr Muller Hospital conducting the medical check-up and cancer screening.
The programme was inaugurated by gram panchayat president Jyothi Shetty by lighting the lamp. Fr Muller’s Elroy Saldanha delivered an informative session on cancer awareness and preventive care.
Others present at the event included panchayat vice president Sandesh Poojary, panchayat development officer Ramesh Rathod, Fr Muller coordinator Deepika, MRPL’s M K Rao, and CSR division manager Keshav Patali.
The camp benefited hundreds of residents from the panchayat jurisdiction.
