Panaji, Jun 20: In a move to improve last-mile delivery of passport services, the Goa regional passport office launched a mobile passport van to serve citizens in remote locations across the state. The van was flagged off by Regional Passport Officer Nijo Varghese at the passport office in Patto, Panaji.
Equipped to handle application submission, document verification, and biometric data collection, the van will be stationed in interior regions based on a pre-announced schedule. Appointments for its services must be booked online.
“This mobile passport van is part of our commitment to bringing passport services closer to the people,” said Varghese. “It aims to help applicants who face geographical or mobility challenges in reaching the passport office.”
The initiative aligns with the Ministry of External Affairs’ broader goal of ensuring convenient, transparent, and efficient passport services across the country.
