Karkala, Jun 14: Christ King English Medium Primary School held the inauguration ceremony for its annual co-curricular activities at the school auditorium, aiming to nurture students’ talents beyond academics.
The event was inaugurated by Rangabhooshana Mani Kotebagilu, director of Pingara Kalavidaru Arts Institution, Moodbidri, who lit the ceremonial lamp and officially launched the various co-curricular activities.
In his address Mani Kotebagilu, emphasized the importance of cultural engagement for children, stating, “Cultural activities contribute significantly to a child’s intellectual and emotional development. Today’s children are the future achievers of our society. Schools and parents must encourage and support their children’s cultural interests.”


Dr Peter Fernandes, a member of the Christ King Education Trust, presided over the function. In his presidential address, he remarked, “No supercomputer in the world can match the capacity of the human brain. We must see divinity in art; talent is a priceless gift.”
Head master primary section Rudolf Kishor Lobo also spoke, highlighting that, “Every child possesses a unique talent, and with the guidance of skilled trainers, these talents should be brought to light.”
The school introduced its panel of co-curricular instructors for the year, including, Vidwan Yashwanth M G (music), Vidwan Subrahmanya Navada (Bharatanatyam), Chinnayya Devadiga (Yakshagana), John Raphael Furtado (band), Jason Rebello (keyboard), Satish Belman (karate), Soundarya (chess), Durgesh (Chende), Latif Sanur (theatre).
All trainers addressed the gathering with words of encouragement and support.

Principal of the PU section Lakshmi Narayana Kamath, and in-charge Headmistress of the high school division Josna Snehalatha, were also present on the dais.
