Mumbai, Jun 14: On the fifth death anniversary of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, his close friend and Pavitra Rishta co-star Karan Veer Mehra paid a heartfelt tribute, expressing how deeply he misses the late actor and how his success feels incomplete without him.

Taking to Instagram, Karan Veer shared a series of throwback pictures with Sushant, fondly calling him “Kamini”. He said that Sushant had stood by him when no one else did and had guided him during one of the lowest phases of his life.

“Although this day remains a black day for the rest of my life, this year pinches a bit more. I am on the road map you set out for me. I wish I could share this with you and make you proud,” he wrote emotionally.

Karan recalled how Sushant had motivated him when he was considering giving up acting. “I myself had started looking for other career options when you sat me down... broke it all down for me, pushed me in the right direction,” he said.

The actor, who has dyslexia, also credited Sushant for helping him take up reading and poetry. He ended his note with a poem:

“Maine khuda se pucha wo kyun chhodh gaya mujhe, uski kya majburi thi…

‘Khuda’ ne kaha, na kasoor tera tha, na galti uski thi, maine ye kahani likhi hi adhuri thi.”

Sushant Singh Rajput passed away in June 2020 at the age of 34, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the hearts of his fans and colleagues.
