New Delhi, Jun 6: A former Pakistani police sub-inspector turned YouTuber has emerged as a key handler in a cross-border espionage network, with deep links to Indian social media influencers, according to revelations made by arrested Punjab-based YouTuber Jasbir Singh.
Jasbir, nabbed earlier this week on charges of spying for Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), reportedly told investigators that ex-cop Nasir Dhillon had introduced him to ISI handlers in Lahore, including an operative identified as Danish. Dhillon, now active on YouTube, allegedly helped connect Indian content creators with ISI agent Danish, alias Ehsan-ur-Rehman, who served as a visa officer at the Pakistani embassy in Delhi until his expulsion in May.

Jasbir Singh, who runs the channel 'JaanMahal Video' with over a million subscribers, is believed to have passed on sensitive information about Indian military movements. Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav revealed Singh was in contact with another ISI officer, Shakir alias Jutt Randhawa, linked to a terror-supported spy network. Singh had visited Pakistan thrice and attended a National Day event at the Pakistani embassy in Delhi.
The case has exposed a wider spy network allegedly targeting Indian YouTubers and youth. Singh reportedly tried to erase digital traces of his communication with ISI handlers after the arrest of fellow travel vlogger Jyoti Malhotra, alias ‘Travel With Jo’, who is also accused of espionage.
Among others arrested are Davendra Singh Dhillon, a student from Patiala, security guard Nauman Ilahi from Haryana, Gujarat health worker Sahdev Singh Gohil, and Rajasthan government employee Shakur Khan. Two youths from Haryana’s Nuh district, Arman and Tarif, were also arrested for alleged spy links and attempts to destroy evidence.
Security agencies now suspect hundreds of retired Pakistani police personnel may be involved in similar ISI operations aimed at exploiting digital influencers in India.
