Goa medical college to increase PG seats by 19 across five courses: Health minister Vishwajit Rane

Panaji, Jun 5: Goa Medical College (GMC) has received official approval to increase its postgraduate medical seats from 31 to 50, spreading across five key courses, announced Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Wednesday.

The sanctioned seat increase includes:

• MS in obstetrics & gynaecology: from 6 to 8 seats

• MD in radiodiagnosis: from 6 to 7 seats

• MD in paediatrics: from 7 to 10 seats

• MS in general surgery: from 6 to 15 seats

• MD in pharmacology: from 6 to 10 seats

This expansion reflects GMC’s commitment to enhancing medical education capacity in Goa, catering to growing demand for specialised healthcare professionals. The Health Minister expressed optimism that the increased seats would strengthen the state’s healthcare infrastructure and provide more opportunities for aspiring medical postgraduates.
