Udupi, Jun 2: Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna has expressed outrage, stating that the Congress government, frustrated by its complete failure in maintaining law and order due to the inefficiency of the Home Department in the undivided Dakshina Kannada district, has resorted to suppressing Hindu activists by filing false cases.
An FIR has been registered against Hindu leader Dr Prabhakar Bhat Kalladka, and a notice has been issued to exile Arun Kumar Puthila. Police have reportedly visited the homes of Hindu activists at night, taken GPS-tagged photographs, and portrayed them like rowdies, with the intent to mentally weaken them, which Yashpal termed condemnable.

He further alleged that the Congress government, in an attempt to appease communal forces, has turned the district police system into its puppet, using it to suppress Hindu activists.
While drug trafficking, love jihad, and illegal cow smuggling are continuing unabated in the district, the police department has failed to take strict action against these issues. Instead, acting solely under the influence of Congress and SDPI leaders, they are trying to imprison Hindu activists with false cases.
Yashpal Suvarna warned that the Congress government must immediately abandon its anti-Hindu stance and the attempts to suppress Hindu activists, and instead work to maintain peace and order in the coastal districts. Otherwise, he warned, a situation will arise where people will be forced to take to the streets in protest.
