Bantwal, June 2: A case has been registered against right-winger Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat at the Bantwal rural police station for making provocative remarks that could disturb communal harmony and affect law and order in the district.
The incident occurred during a condolence event held on May 12 at Madhwa Palace Kalyana Mantapa hall in Kavalapadur village under the jurisdiction of the Bantwal rural police. The programme was organised in memory of rowdy-sheeter Suhas Shetty who was recently murdered in the Mangaluru city limits.

Bhat, who participated in the event, is said to have delivered a speech before a gathering of around 500 people. During his address, he allegedly made provocative statements that could incite enmity between communities and disturb public peace.
In light of the potentially disruptive nature of the speech, police have registered a case under Cr No: 60/2025, Section 353(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) on June 2 at Bantwal rural police station. Further legal action is being pursued.
