New Delhi, May 31: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Madhya Pradesh on Saturday to commemorate the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, the 18th-century queen known for her visionary leadership and welfare initiatives.
During his visit, PM Modi will attend the Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Mahila Sashaktikaran Mahasammelan in Bhopal at 11:15 a.m. There, he will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for a range of infrastructure and development projects focused on women’s empowerment and civic development.
A commemorative postage stamp and a special Rs 300 coin featuring Ahilyabai Holkar’s portrait will also be released as part of the celebrations.

In recognition of women’s contributions to traditional and folk arts, the Prime Minister will present the National Devi Ahilyabai Award to a distinguished woman artist.
A key highlight of the visit will be the foundation stone laying of ghat construction projects on the Kshipra River worth over ?860 crore, ahead of the Simhastha Mahakumbh 2028 in Ujjain. These projects include barrages, stop dams, and vented causeways to improve water management in the region.
In a boost to regional connectivity, PM Modi will inaugurate the newly developed Datia and Satna airports, expected to drive growth in tourism, healthcare, industry, and education across the Vindhya region.
Additionally, the Prime Minister will launch passenger services on the Indore Metro’s Yellow Line Super Priority Corridor, promising to ease congestion and promote eco-friendly transportation.
Further supporting rural governance, PM Modi will release the first installment for the construction of 1,271 Atal Gram Sushasan Bhawans, with a total investment of over Ra 480 crore. These buildings will strengthen local governance by providing dedicated administrative infrastructure for gram panchayats.
