Bantwal, May 28: Police have arrested three persons in connection with the murder of Abdul Rehman that occurred in broad daylight at Eerakodi in Kuriyal village under the jurisdiction of Bantwal rural police station on May 27.
A case has been registered at Bantwal rural police station under IPC sections 191(1), 191(2), 191(3), 118(1), 118(2), 109, 103 and 190 of BNS 2023.

The accused had gone absconding after the crime. Following the incident, Bantwal police formed five investigative teams and appointed the assistant superintendent of police as the investigation officer. The teams launched a manhunt for the accused based on the available leads.
Police detained the three accused in connection with the case from Kanapady and are currently interrogating them. Efforts are ongoing to nab the remaining accused.
The detained accused are Deepak (21), son of late Yogish Poojary, resident of Mandrakodi House, Kuriyal village, Bantwal taluk; Prithviraj (21), son of Pramod Raj Jogi, near Bhadra Kali Temple and Chiranthan (19), son of Suresh Belchada, both from Shivajinagar, Ammunje village, Bantwal taluk.
Police investigation is ongoing.
