Mangaluru, May 27: In connection with the call for a Mangaluru bandh over the murder of Suhas Shetty, Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Sharan Pumpwell was arrested by Kadri police on Tuesday, May 27.

As soon as news of the arrest spread, activists from various right wing organisations gathered outside the Kadri police station.

The activists condemned the police action.

DCP Ravishankar visited the police station and, in view of the prohibitory orders in place, dispersed the crowd from the station premises.

Sharan Pumpwell was later taken by police to Wenlock Hospital for a medical examination.
