Bengaluru, May 25: Concerns over a potential resurgence of Covid-19 are once again gripping Karnataka, as the state reported nine new infections in the past 24 hours.
The development has prompted the government to tighten its guard with precautionary measures already being put in place. With the fresh cases, the active caseload in the state has risen to 47.

According to the latest bulletin issued by the department of Health and Family Welfare, no Covid-19-related fatalities have been recorded on Sunday, May 25.
A total of 104 people were tested for the virus, of whom nine were confirmed positive. Of the 47 active cases, 46 patients are currently undergoing treatment at home, the department confirmed.
Amid rising numbers, health minister Dinesh Gundu Rao has instructed officials to ramp up testing, especially for those with respiratory ailments and heart-related conditions, urging that COVID tests be made mandatory in such cases. The government remains alert as it seeks to prevent a wider spread of the infection.
