New Delhi, May 24: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday urged union home minister Amit Shah to amend the AP Reorganisation Act and officially declare Amaravati as the state capital, rejecting the previous regime's three-capital proposal.

On his Delhi visit, Naidu met several union ministers, seeking support for major projects. He proposed setting up electronics and defence manufacturing clusters in Lepakshi, Sriharikota, Kurnool, and Visakhapatnam.

He introduced the AP Integrated Clean Energy Policy, targeting 72 GW of green power, and requested Rs 28,346 crore for a green energy corridor. He also sought solar rooftops for 35 lakh homes and support for the Polavaram–Banakacharla water project, aimed at diverting 200 TMC of surplus Godavari water.

Naidu said the Centre responded positively to Andhra’s demands, and pledged to complete Polavaram by 2027.
