Bharat Kumdel booked for communal remarks during public event in Puttur

Puttur, May 15: A case has been registered against right-wing leader Bharat Kumdel for allegedly delivering a speech inciting communal hatred during a public event held at Jain Bhavan on Bypass Road in Puttur Kasaba village, Puttur taluk.

The incident took place in the evening of May 15. Authorities stated that the speech made by the accused had the potential to disrupt public peace and harmony.

Following the incident, a case has been registered at Puttur town police station under Crime No. 35/2025, invoking Sections 196 and 353(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023. Further investigation is underway.
