Udupi: Boy dies after bike hits milestone as dog crosses road

Udupi, May 13: In a tragic road mishap, a 14-year-old boy lost his life after a bike collided with a milestone on the roadside when a dog suddenly crossed the path. The deceased has been identified as Sheikh Abdul Saifan, son of Abdul Aziz, a resident of Tenka Ermalu.

The incident occurred when the father and son were returning home after buying books in Padubidri. A dog reportedly crossed the road unexpectedly, causing the bike to go out of control and crash into a milestone by the highway. The impact was so severe that part of the bike caught fire and was partially burned.

Saifan, who sustained serious injuries after falling on the road, was rushed to a private hospital in Udupi. However, despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries late at night.

A case has been registered at the Padubidri police station.
