Operation Sindoor not over, India warns of tougher response

Daijiworld Media Network – New Delhi

New Delhi, May 11: Despite the ceasefire understanding between India and Pakistan, government sources have made it clear that Operation Sindoor is still underway and far from over. The armed forces remain on high alert following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s directive to deliver a decisive and strong response to any misadventure from across the border.

“Operation Sindoor is not concluded. There is a new normal in India's response to cross-border terrorism,” said sources familiar with the developments.

The strong posture comes in the aftermath of the May 7 strikes by Indian forces on terror infrastructure located in Pakistan-controlled territories. Sources stated that India’s approach is now clear: if Pakistan opens fire, India will retaliate with greater intensity; if Pakistan halts, India too will cease operations.

The Indian government has also ruled out any diplomatic dialogue with Pakistan, stating that communication will be limited strictly to the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) channel. “There is no other issue to discuss,” a source added, signalling New Delhi’s toughened stance.
