Kaup, May 9: In a remarkable and unprecedented decision, the Majur Grama Panchayat has allocated Rs 10 lac in its annual budget for the Indian Army. This amount is reserved to extend support in case of a possible war situation between India and Pakistan, considering the ongoing tensions along the border.
Grama Panchayat president Prasad Shetty Valaduru and vice-president Manjula Acharya announced the decision through an official press release. They emphasized that this allocation was made unanimously by all members of the Panchayat, keeping in mind the nation’s interest and the well-being of Indian soldiers.
The Majur Grama Panchayat has consistently been known for its efficient governance and development-oriented initiatives, always aligning with national interests. The recent retaliation by Indian forces against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism in Kashmir was cited as a proud moment and further strengthened the resolve of the Panchayat to stand by the armed forces.
With the threat of conflict looming between India and Pakistan, the panchayat has declared that providing every possible support to the military is its duty. During discussions with the MLA of Kaup Assembly Constituency, Gurme Suresh Shetty, he applauded the move and stated that in times of national crisis, every citizen must stand with the army. He further mentioned that Majur Grama Panchayat’s decision is the first of its kind in the country and is likely to inspire other Panchayats as well.
This historic step by Majur sets a powerful example of grassroots patriotism and proactive civic responsibility in times of national need.
