Bengaluru, May 9: Senior BJP leader and former president of the BJP Bengaluru South district unit Ramesh N R has called upon Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara and Director General of Police Alok Mohan to take swift and stringent action against illegal Bangladeshi immigrants allegedly residing in Bengaluru and other parts of the state using forged identity documents.
Addressing media persons, Ramesh claimed that for over 13 years, more than 50,000 Bangladeshi nationals have been unlawfully living in areas falling under the Mahadevapura, K R Puram, and Bengaluru South Assembly constituencies.

He identified specific localities such as Marathahalli Junction, K R Puram Lake, Jakkasandra Junction, Kundalahalli Gate, Munnekolalu, Kadubeesanahalli, Devarabeesanahalli, Hulimavu, and Chikka Begur as hotspots of illegal settlement.
He alleged that many of these individuals have fraudulently acquired ration cards, voter ID cards, and Aadhaar cards, with the assistance of local agents and corrupt government officials. “Granting Indian identity to foreign nationals for money is a grave threat to national security and an act of treason,” he said.
Ramesh referred to earlier complaints submitted in 2013-14 and 2015-16, along with what he claimed was documentary proof. He also cited a recent sting operation that reportedly exposed the modus operandi of infiltrators entering the country and obtaining forged documents through illicit channels.
According to Ramesh, a large number of these illegal residents are employed as ragpickers and security guards in malls, multiplexes, and gated communities across eastern Bengaluru. Others, he claimed, work in coffee estates in Chikkamagaluru and Kodagu districts, often being paid below the legal minimum wage, which he said encourages “anti-national” elements to exploit them for commercial benefit.
He strongly criticised certain revenue officers, assistant revenue officers, revenue inspectors, and tax inspectors, accusing them of issuing voter ID cards without proper verification, allegedly in exchange for bribes. He also alleged that private agencies authorised to issue Aadhaar cards were complicit in the racket.
“The scale of illegal immigration is so serious that it could influence the BBMP elections,” Ramesh warned. “It would not be surprising if one or two infiltrators are elected as corporators.”
He demanded urgent legal proceedings against both the infiltrators and those who facilitated their access to Indian identity documents. Ramesh urged the state government to thoroughly examine the documents and video evidence he has submitted and to initiate immediate deportation of all unauthorised residents.
